Well, ok...

WaveRider: Feather Hair Extensions

Seriously considering this trend... altho, I would prob opt for the more natural looking feathers, so that I wouldn't ruffle any in the workplace. The extensions are fairly priced (I think around $5 each–but don't quote me on that) and last for about 6 weeks. You can wash and style them as you would your normal hair. My hair stylist at Bubbles in Towson told me about them, but I'm sure you can get them in many modern salons in your area. Flaunt and KCO in Baltimore are some other spots.
Perfect for the concert and festival season upon us!

Game of Thrones

For those of you trying to wrap your brain around Game of Thrones, perhaps this character diagram will help... Frankly, it makes my head spin, but what a great show! If you dig sci-fi, gore and period flix, check it out on HBO.

A lil Glimpse of the Weekend

This weekend Sweet Lips and I took advantage of the FREE DC Zoo. It was the perfect day for strolling around... overcast and cool. The wild cats put on a great show. The roar of the African Lion alone was worth the trip. I did however miss the absence of a giraffe and rhino (apparently available for view at the Bmore Zoo). Below are some of the "wild" highlights.
After checking out the Zoo, we headed over to U Street for dinner at Bar Pilar... some pretty spectacular tapas (altho slightly overpriced).
Sunday was spent stuffing our faces with the finest Italian produce North Bmore has to offer. We went to Mastellone and stocked up on wine, dough, cheese and other munchies. Below is the proscuitto & mozzarella sandwich I brunched on and also the scrumptious homemade pizza we had for dinner. Ingredients included: goat cheese, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, roasted red peppers, red onions and kalamata olives......... yummmmmmmm!

Embroidered Art... try it!

Diggin' the embroidered illustration of studio Mi Figues, seen via
Reminds me of a DIY I've been wanting to do for quite some time now... A cross stitch pattern on canvas, first seen on ReadyMade. Also, might be cool to get your fave abstract (blurred) photo blown-up on canvas and add some stitch detailing. Ya know... in your spare time ;)

A Hearty Happy Hour

The following dreamy concoction is brought to you by my dear friend Lil Miss Almond Joy (pictured 4 rows down). She stopped by last Sunday and brought with her the means to make a Coconut Tosser.
The drink is comprised of equal parts 2 Coconut Rums, 1 Dark Rum then add enough Coconut Milk to keep you honest. After taste testing... I added some Pineapple Juice for sweetness. All I was missing was the sand between my toes... enjoy!

I hate when I can't have things :(

And I know it's sucky to show you what you can't have but... Doesn't this suit rock?
Out of Stock here... ugh. sigh. sigh. Seen via.

No sweat summer sweets!

I made these jumbo mallow concoctions this weekend for a cookout.
They were super easy and super satisfying! Try'em!

Get creative with your toppings... coconut flakes, graham cracker bits, Swedish fish, the sky's the limit!

Mood Board: Style Envy

I've been pinning images and items of interest for quite some time now at pinterest.com. A neat site that lets you easily create virtual inspiration boards with links back to the original source. Below are a few images from my Style Envy board. The board features images of females with killer ensemble assembly sensibility (say that 3x). Follow me and my other boards for more topics of interest... diy, accessories, interiors, affordable art, drool-worthy foods and more!

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

I promise to post more next week... I started a new job this week (yes, again!) and have been too busy to entertain myself :-/

You feel like a nut.
Sometime you don't.

Life is better with friends and pineapple upside down cake

but sometimes your friends move 19 hours away and that sucks!
Sometimes life sucks.
I've been in sort of denial lately about the recent news of Lil Miss Honsauce's big move. She recently told me that she had accepted a position in New Orleans and my heart sank down to my over-sized wedges :( I honestly can't imagine Bmore life without her. She has been an endless source of love, encouragement and good times for many years and I know we have many more years of ridiculous stories and cookouts ahead of us, but I still want to stomp my feet and throw an adult-size tantrum at the idea of her Bmore departure. It bloody sucks!
Below are some pics from our first gathering at my new pad...
Note:  I get really nostalgic for old boardgames, but if you feel like playing Life, prob best to not drink and play...  the rules are hella complex. The spinner however is still delightful.

Ice Cream Socialite

I recently came across this totally awesome invention... A soft-serve ice cream maker! Woop! Woop! Just in time for steamy weather. Perfect for when you're too lazy to run to the ice cream truck on the street corner or dig for change. I really/really want one and I'm pretty sure I would be the coolest kid on the block if I threw an ice cream social.
What does one wear to an ice cream social, you ask???
Why, I think the following outfit would totally be social appropriate:

Olivia the great.

Actually, anytime I've ever heard Olivia utter a word on TV it's been in a condescending manner, but DAMN can this chic dress! Every one of her ensembles are drool-worthy and spot on. Take a look...
