Dream House

Clean lines, archways, pops of color, exposed beams, subtle old world feel... yup, this is ME!
Or at least who and where I want to be.

Hangover Cures via DC's Finest

Brightest Young Things interviewed a few of DC's chefs, bartenders and restaurant folk to see what their secrets were for recovering from a night of good/bad decisons. Making the list multiple times were:
– Coconut Water
– Excedrin
– Pho!
– Coffee
– Nice Greasy Breakfast
– H20!!! (before, after and in-between)
Check out some other tips here.
My go-to's are usually: Excedrin, a Coke Slurpee, Ginger Ale (if the tummy hurts) and some sort of greasy meat product :)

The Fall boot hunt is on!

I've been a lil obsessed recently with acquiring the perfect pair of fall boots. Below are some of my unique findings. So many styles to choose from, can't really settle for just one, right?!

My alter ego 'tude for Tuesday

On blast.

Established Needs

My co-worker and I started adding items to our imaginary wedding registry. It started with a discussion about us already being "established women". Meaning... We already have a lot of basic housewares and life's necessities. We've been out of the ramen-for-dinner phase for a long time now and "established women" make responsible purchases (most of the time).

First on my list was a Dyson vacuum (swivel ball, bells and whistles included). First on hers was a KitchenAid stand mixer. Not sure she knew about this one before requesting it, but now I might have to change my number one.

A Hearty Happy Hour

During the fall months, my beverage of choice is apple cider! So crisp, refreshing and delicious!
I'm looking for a couple other ways to spice it up... May give these recipes a whirl.
Cinnamon Toast Cocktail
12 ounces Apple Cider warmed, 3 ounces Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum,
1 tablespoon Cinnamon, 1 tablespoon Sugar, 1 Cinnamon Stick to garnish
Heidi's Comet Cocktail
2 ounces Disaronno Amaretto Liqueur, 2 ounces Vodka,
2 ounces Apple Cider, 1 Cinnamon Stick, Ice

Mug Shot Art

I'm strangely drawn to these vintage mug shot prints, especially the chic below with scornful/raised brow.

No limit cross stitch

My Mom sent me these even before I saw them on Quipsologies... Strange times we're living in...

Halloween '11

I was kinda lame for Halloween this year, but I blame it on my job. We had an intense competition that lasted all month to develop themes and skits and ended in me wearing an over sized gorilla costume, nuff said. Below is a lil glimpse of my weekend, including a bloody prop for the office, a spider web lighting center piece for a delicious fall dinner and Stanley Pooper with his mini treat pail.
